Each varietal was aged separately for 14 months prior to blending.
Cooperage: 16 months in French oak barriques. 30% new oak
Bottled: February 2022
Production: 90 cases
Winemaker notes: Salto De Fe (Leap of Faith) is our take on a modern Spanish inspired red blend. Tempranillo is the dominate grape in Spain and here we used it as the main component and structural framework of the blend. Monastrell adds to the wine’s structure while bringing unique complexity with floral and earthy notes. The added splash of Garnacha and Cabernet Sauvignon provide additional complexity to the wine. In the glass, the wine has a deep purple color with aromas of plum, cherries, herbs, macadamia nuts and chocolate. Berry flavors follow through on a silky mid palate along with savory and earthy notes and finishing with finely integrated tannins.

Bottled: January 25, 2022
Production: 90 cases
Winemaker Notes: Our last release of Monastrell (Spanish equivalent of the French grape Mourvèdre) was in 2018. This is a red grape with origins from Spain and is known as Mourvèdre in France. This grape loves the climate of Eastern Washington and does well in warmer sites. This wine displays vibrant layers of ripe blackberry, plum, cherry and hints of white pepper and violet. The palate is medium bodied with secondary flavors of boysenberry and a touch of oak spice finishing with nicely integrated tannins and a balanced acidity.

The Monastrell brings structure to the wine, the Garnacha adds an element of elegance, and the Syrah gives additional backbone and texture to the blend. This wine has dynamic aromatics of blackberry and raspberry, plum, herbal notes, dark cocoa, and earth. The palate is nice and round and gives way to flavors of black fruits, green olive, and subtle orange peel. The tannins are very smooth and polished.
